I personally think Kahoot is a helpful program for teachers to interact with students in both a fun and educational way. It is a free and easy way to engage students in a competitive game-based environment. Also, I think asking students to sign in using a class code and their real names can be used as a review for formative assessment to check on their understanding of the content. It is because Kahoot provides quick feedback and helps students know what the correct answer is. In addition, the background music and customizable pictures can draw the students’ attention. Also, the instant visual scoreboard keeps the game competitive and the learners engaged. I believe students will definitely be asking to play again and again, which will help them build conceptual understanding. However, my only concern would be whether students are able to each have their own mobile device to join the game. This might depend on the school’s budget and rules of cellphone in the classroom.
